I started my career back in 2004 in Ukraine, where I supported a database in a small company that was doing electrical systems. Fast forward 10 years, I was doing Product Management in one of the largest agricultural companies in Ukraine, building a fully integrated ERP system. Then we had an opportunity to move to the US, where we endeed up staying for the next 10 years and counting. This relocation forced me to restart my career from the ground up and in the process of doing so, I worked my way from the guy doing phone support in a company of 40 people to a senior manager in Fortune 50 company with 60,000 employees worldwide. At some point, I came to realization that I value what I am doing over the title and fame, so I’m working for a fintech scale up out of Europe, called Revolut, and couldn’t be happier.

The relocation from Ukraine to the US, after 9 years of climbing the corporate ladder was a quite interesting and humbling experience, that forced me to reset everything I knew about career development and to start from the scratch. I learned a lot by being an contractor, individual contributor, then manager of ICs, then manager of managers
